INDIANAPOLIS – For a fourth consecutive year, Indy Eleven will host a two-day open tryout for men’s players seeking to further their careers with Indiana’s Team and other professional outfits. The 2022 tryout will take place at the Grand Park Event Center in Westfield (19000 Grand Park Blvd.) January 27-28, from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. both days.
Members of the Indy Eleven Technical Staff, including new Head Coach Mark Lowry, will be present to scout prospective players. In addition, representatives from neighboring Midwest-based professional and semi-professional clubs will be in attendance; a full list of participating clubs will be announced in the coming weeks.
“If I ask our players to compete to their fullest every single day, then I have to require the same out of myself and my coaches when it comes to searching for talent that will compose our 2022 roster,” said Lowry, a 2021 USL Championship Coach of the Year finalist. “Part of that process comes from hosting this open tryout, which will continue to provide a well-organized structure in which our technical staff can evaluate players that might earn their way to our preseason camp starting in February.”
Indy Eleven has had numerous open tryout success stories across its previous eight seasons, including the signings of former forwards Jeremy Rafanello (2020) and Alioune Diakhate (2019), and midfielder Don Smart, who registered more than 100 appearances for Indy Eleven from 2014-17 after taking part in the club’s initial round of tryouts in 2013.
Registration for January’s tryouts will cost $215 for the two-day session, which includes small-sided and full 11v11 evaluation opportunities. Full details, including a link to the online registration form and information on a special guest rate for participants at nearby hotels, can be found at www.indyeleven.com/OpenTryout.
In addition to the above opportunity for men’s players, Indy Eleven is also set to host an open two-day session for talented female players seeking places on the roster of its new women’s senior team that will compete in the USL W League starting in summer 2022. Those tryouts, helmed by newly announced Head Coach Paul Dolinsky and Assistant Coach Grace Bahr, will take place at the Grand Park Sports Complex on December 28-29; full details and a link to register can be found at https://www.indyeleven.com/wleague.
Indy Eleven will begin its ninth season of play, and fifth season in the USL Championship, in 2022. Season Ticket Memberships for Indy Eleven’s 2022 campaign are now on sale – with some of the numerous benefits including complimentary tickets for the club’s inaugural USL W League season. Fans can also place deposits to secure discounted tickets and exclusive gameday experiences for groups of 10 or more and one of the many Premium Hospitality options at Carroll Stadium.
