Assistant Coach & Director, Sport Performance
Indy Eleven welcomed Gabe Zapponi as Director of Sports Performance and assistant coach on Jan, 7, 2022.
Prior to joining Indy’s technical staff, Zapponi was the Director of Coaches and Sports Performance for Nona FC. Zapponi also spent time with Ocala Stampede,The Villages SC, and spent time alongside Head Coach Mark Lowery at El Paso Locomotive and Armada FC.
For his freshman and sophomore years of college, Zapponi attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. During his time there he led the team to two regional championships and was named to the NJCAA All Region-2 First team in 2010. After his sophomore year, Zapponi transferred to the UCF where he played 22 games for the Knights and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science. The Rio de Janeiro native also has a master’s in Leadership and Organizational Development from Jacksonville University and is en route to a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Concordia University.
