Vanegas saw action in 19 matches, making five starts, in her redshirt freshman season at Central Arkansas. She scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-0 win over Grambling and her 17 shots ranked third on the team.
Prior to her college career, Vanegas earned states championships with Atlas C.P from 2012-18. She was part of a 2017 National Championship in Medellin, Colombia, with Atlas and a South American Championship with Seleccion Valle in Asuncion, Paraguay.
