Diadora to Serve as Official Apparel Provider of Indy Eleven Professional Soccer
Iconic Soccer Apparel Company Assisted in Tonight’s Unveiling of Indy Eleven Jerseys
INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, October 1, 2013) – As a part of today’s monumental announcements by Indy Eleven Professional Soccer, the North American Soccer League expansion side revealed that Diadora will serve as the club’s Official Apparel Provider for three seasons beginning in 2014. In support of the partnership, Diadora America Vice-President Bill Nuttall joined Indy Eleven brass in the official unveiling of the jerseys the Indiana side will take to the field in beginning next spring.
“After listening to feedback from fans for the last year, we knew one of the things we had to get absolutely right was our jerseys,” said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt. “Diadora was proactive from the very beginning of our apparel partner search, and their attention to detail and quality products will be appreciated as much by the fans as it will by our organization.”
During tonight’s celebration, Indy Eleven and its partners unveiled the look of three jerseys in the club’s signature navy blue, red and white colors. Following on the heels of today’s partnership announcement with Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC and Central Indiana Honda Dealers, the familiar Honda logo is featured prominently on the chest of the checker-patterned jersey, which pays homage to both the club’s Brickyard Battalion supporters group and Indianapolis’ racing culture. The team’s distinctive crest is placed over the heart on the left side of the shirt, while the Diadora logo will counter on the right side. The back of the jersey features the Indy Eleven wordmark under the collar and outlined numbers in a font unique to the club.
“Diadora is proud to partner up with Indy Eleven for what we know will be the most successful franchise in the NASL,” said Nuttall.
Indy Eleven fans will be able to pre-order replica jerseys at the IndyEleven.com online store starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 10:00 a.m. Jerseys will be available in all three team colors, with men’s and women’s versions priced at $75 and youth sizes available for $65. Replica jerseys can be ordered with a blank back or with the number 11 emblazoned. Other name and number jersey customizations are not available at this time and delivery of pre-ordered jerseys is expected to begin in November. Authentic Indy Eleven jerseys will become available in early 2014.
Like Diadora, the athletes that wear their shoes and apparel are the champions of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Diadora does not boast a fabricated history, but a story of authenticity … a legitimate tale of a family business that started in Italy, grew in Italy, and is still proud to be manufacturing in Italy, a tradition that began in 1948 when the company’s founder Marcello Danieli, first began working in the trade as a young boy. The mid-seventies marked Diadora’s entry into the soccer category, aided by Roberto Bettega, who provided invaluable consulting information.
