Indy Eleven Secures 5,000th Season Ticket Deposit for Inaugural 2014 Season
More than 500 Deposits Made since last Thursday’s International Champions Cup Match at Lucas Oil Stadium; NASL Club Continues to Push Towards 7,000 Season Ticket Holder Goal
INDIANAPOLIS (Friday, August 9, 2013) – Indy Eleven Professional Soccer today reached another milestone moment in its continued growth, as the expansion North American Soccer League club today secured the 5,000th season ticket deposit in advance of its inaugural 2014 season. The team’s #IndyEleven5000 campaign over the last week resulted in more than 500 deposits being put down since last Thursday’s Guinness International Champions Cup contest between Chelsea FC and Inter at Lucas Oil Stadium.
“The success of the International Champions Cup event went a long way towards proving Indianapolis is a market where soccer can thrive,” said Peter Wilt, President/General Manager of Indy Eleven. “Now many of those nearly 42,000 fans in attendance last Thursday have made the next step to grow the sport in the State of Indiana by pledging their support to Indy Eleven as we look to take the professional game here to another level.”
Thanks to the order of Jeb Banner, the CEO of Indianapolis-based marketing firm Smallbox, Indy Eleven crossed the 5,000 season ticket mark on Friday afternoon. That round number is merely the next step in Indy Eleven’s plan to fill its future home of IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium, as the club is targeting November 11 (11/11) to reach its threshold of 7,000 season ticket holders. Indy Eleven plans to release more details regarding the seating layout at Carroll Stadium and a starting date for the seat selection process for its growing season ticket holder base in the coming weeks.
The 41,983 fans that took in the Chelsea-Inter affair in Indianapolis marked the second largest attendance of the seven-stop Guinness International Champions Cup tournament, placing behind only Wednesday’s third-place/final doubleheader at Miami’s SunLife Stadium (67,273). The match at Lucas Oil Stadium marked the first time two top international club teams had squared off in the Hoosier State.
